To give it a “challenging” look, ask team members to vote on their favorite workspace at the end, and the winner can enjoy bragging rights of the most impressive remote work setup. 2. Remote Work Bingo Using bingo templates, create bingo cards and schedule quick games as a “brain break” for you and your team. You can customize it to fit your company and team below: Have your teammates submit ideas for Bingo spaces to make it a collaborative process. You can also offer prizes for winners, such as online gift cards. Another plus – Bingo is easy enough to do in a regular meeting. To make Bingo work remotely, choose someone to be the moderator. They will call out a random phrase and wait a few seconds for players to search their cards for that phrase. If that phrase is on a player’s card, they use a tool, such as paint, to mark that space. When a player has marked enough spaces in a row, he announces “Bingo!” in a video call and wait for the moderator to check their answer. If the line is vertical, horizontal, or diagonal, and matches the gap, that teammate wins. 3. Mafia Mafia is known by different names, and is often played by large groups. Basically, the game is a “whodunnit” mystery solving challenge. One of the players is a “killer,” silent, and it depends on everyone who is wrong. There are many functions assigned to the Mafia to maintain the structure of the organization, such as “Doctors,” “People” and “Detectives.” The best part about the game? This can be a recurring event or a one-off meeting, but the goal is to discuss ideas outside of the group project. It can be a nice break from your day to talk about good books — whether it’s monthly or a few times a year. 8. History of Pop Culture Trivia What song did Britney Spears perform at the 2001 VMAs? Parks and recreation in which city? Relax with colleagues in a friendly game of pop culture trivia — 2000 style. You can come up with questions with your team, or find fun prompts online. Appoint a moderator, divide your team into groups, and let the game begin! 9. Going on field trips, you remember going with your classmates when you were still a child? They are fun outings to learn and explore with friends. Today, the field trip experience is moving to the online platform so that children and adults can enjoy these gatherings virtually. For example, you can talk to local farms to see if they would be willing to set up a remote farm tour for your team. We’ve done this at HubSpot, and it’s a great way to interact with colleagues while you’re mostly concerned with the cute pig or goat you see on the screen. 10. Scavenger Hunt When was the last time you took a deep dive into your company’s website? If your answer is, “never,” this is your chance to challenge your friends. Choose a page or tab from your company website for yourself and team members, and create a group scavenger hunt. Break out into teams, or make it a solo adventure.
