Song Thank You Very Much – The latest solo single from sisters Leah Song and Chloe Smith, better known as global folk troubadours Rising Appalachia, is all about giving thanks. “Thank You Very Much” is an invigorating slow track that adds layers to the band’s world music, building on one instrument after another until the final swirling chorus. It’s just. And beautiful. And it certainly matters to the recipients. “Thank you very much started as a totem for our family and a pillar of our upbringing,” says Leah. “It moved into a wider place of gratitude…into a song that’s an anthem for us, for the many radical and wild people who stepped in and helped this music rise, and for the long road we’re all walking home. together. It’s a testament to the simple power of gratitude.”
PopMatters premiered “Thank You Very Much” yesterday, praising Rising Appalachia’s “healing melodies” and calling the tune a “meditation on the journey.” Fans can join the wave of gratitude today by watching Big Thanks right here. Rising Appalachia will be back on tour in October with a run through Tennessee and North Carolina. A list of tour dates can be found below or at risingappalachia.com/tour.
