SINGAPORE: Singaporeans will get more cash under the new Goods and Services Tax (GST) scheme and trust package, Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced in his Budget 2023 speech on Tuesday (Feb 14).

Mr Wong said this ensures that most pensioners and low-income households will not be affected by the GST rate hike.
“Under our GST system – which means GST and GSTV combined – wealthier consumers, as well as foreigners and tourists, will receive more effective GST rates than low-income Singaporeans,” he said.
