In consulting, the $100,000 minimum salary for a senior consultant at Deloitte is the same as a team leader or consultant at Accenture. Deloitte’s minimum director salary of $190,000 is higher than that of PwC ($184,800) and lower than that of KPMG ($200,000).
There is still a shortage of experienced professionals in August 2022, due to a sharp increase in customer demand and a slow return of overseas professionals. This has led companies to increase wages, improve working conditions and other benefits to retain and recruit staff.
Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG and PwC posted more than 3,200 job postings on business networking site LinkedIn as of early August 2022. Accenture has more than 1,000 ads, while KPMG has about 550. The actual number of open positions at companies is much higher, as many ads refer to several open roles in different positions.

Research. Accenture, Deloitte and PwC helped validate this initial database, while KPMG agreed to help with the second version of the database, which was released in July 2021.
These four firms – Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG and PwC – have now voluntarily provided pay rates for their employees for the 2022 financial year.

The purpose of the two comparison tables below is to provide the minimum salary that can be expected at each level for professionals working in the audit and consulting departments of the companies concerned.
It also provides guidance on the typical experiences required by each company at each level. Accenture is not included in the audit comparison table because the company does not provide external audit services.
The highest rank in the tables is the rank prior to becoming a partner or, in Accenture’s case, managing director at each firm.

There’s a reason why accounting firms, traditionally very stingy with salary increases, are now willing to do so. It is very difficult to reach the high level when new graduates are rewarded with much more lucrative offers elsewhere.

So companies pay accountants well (better than big4 for same level role)
But once you leave the big4, your career is slow. There is no such thing as a promotion every 2 years in commercial accounting

Senior Bank Accountant (minimum 3 years experience) already paying $6-12k per month. Big4 can’t match this salary. But if you join the bank, you can slowly wait for promotion.
