Students applying for the RN, LVN 30-unit option as an LVN or with military experience are permitted to take certain courses in the program and receive full academic credit. A request for challenge credit must be submitted in writing to the campus registrar prior to the scheduled start date of the course. Challenge points will not be allowed once a student begins the course Students requesting a course challenge must pay a non-refundable fee of $200.00 at the time of requesting to schedule a challenge exam.
The Challenge Exam must be passed with a grade of at least 85% If a student successfully completes the Challenge Exam, full academic credit will be given, the course will be recorded on the student’s record with “CC,” and the applicable course credit hour fee will be deducted from the student’s total course cost. Challenge credit courses do not count toward the GPA The course challenge will affect the student’s scheduled completion date
For registered nursing applicants, a petition for challenge credit must be submitted to the Director of Nursing for whom the challenge credit is being requested. Students who receive Challenge Credit will receive a tuition reduction on a pro rata basis for the credits awarded.
