I joined Singapore as a corporate tax consultant. I wanted to learn from a leader in the tax field, it opened my eyes and gave me the opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex tax issues. One of my main responsibilities is to advise clients on tax efficient structures for their investments. By doing this, I was able to help clients reduce tax liabilities and optimize revenue.

But once out of the Big Four, career progression is slow. In commercial accounting, there is no such thing as a promotion every 2 years
Senior lawyer bank accountant (at least 3 years of experience) already pays 6-12 thousand dollars per month. Big4 can’t match that salary. But you join a bank, you can wait for promotion slowly. Maybe 5 years later not yet a manager, but by then you were a senior manager of big4 colleagues in the same group (also play big4, at least at manager level)

In consulting, KPMG minimum salaries range from $66,000 for a graduate, $81,500 for a senior consultant, $112,000 for a manager and $200,000 for a director.
The pay rates, emailed to the entire company Thursday morning, are for employees in KPMG’s five key skill areas: tax, consulting, external audit, transactions and data and technology. Employees earn at least the same amount at each rank and may also qualify for bonuses.
